Our research group is led by Dr George E. Barreto, Associate Professor of Cell Biology/Immunology at the University of Limerick. Dr Barreto earned his PhD in Neuroscience in 2009 and has since focused on how neurosteroids and glial cells respond to brain injury. He is joined by an amazing team of PhD candidates, master’s students and visiting researchers who share a passion for mitochondria, hormones and brain health.
