We are delighted to welcome Ella to our lab this summer!
Ella is a second-year BSc Bioscience student and a recipient of the prestigious Science and Engineering Summer Bursary from theFaculty of Science and Engineering, University of Limerick. This award supports outstanding students in gaining hands-on research experience.
Over the coming months, she will contribute to developing an in vitro model of Alzheimer's disease, focusing on how metabolic changes associated with endocrine aging influence neurodegeneration. Her work will support ongoing efforts in our lab to better understand cellular mechanisms underlying brain health and disease.
Outside the lab, she is actively involved in camogie with Broadford Camogie Club, and enjoys baking and reading.
We’re excited to have her on board and look forward to seeing her contributions this summer.
